The FYSPRT Model is based on the following values…
- RESPECT- families and youth as well as service providers will value what each brings to the table without judgment, meeting each where they are.
- EQUITY- All members have value and expertise in a particular area (Mental Health, Family/Youth Perspective, Education, etc..) and all expertise is valued equally.
- GIVE AND TAKE- Everyone gives and everyone receives, everyone learns and everyone teaches. There is the expectation that all members will give and receive in achieving the goals of the group.
- PARTNERSHIP- Families, youths and service providers will work together to find solutions that work well for everyone. All groups will look for shared truth in achieving goals.
- EMPOWERMENT- Families as well as service providers will learn new skills to be able to be more self-sufficient in their own communities. Families and youth will have skills to share their voices to express what they need and what is helpful.
- SUPPORT- Families and youth as well as service providers will receive support when needed.
These efforts are funded by Washington State Division of Behavioral Health through the Washington Systems of Care (SOC) grant.
The Purpose of the SOC Grant is to develop a comprehensive plan to expand systems of care statewide through partnerships among family, youth, community and state organizations. Our state partners include: the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Department of Health, Health Care Authority, and the DSHS Children’s Administration, Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration, Chemical Dependency Services, Division of Development Disabilities, and Children’s Mental Health Services. Other SOC leaders involved in activities that contribute to the grant efforts include members of the Tulalip Tribe and school district personnel throughout the state.
The five goals of the Washington SOC Grant are to:
1. Infuse SOC values in all systems for children, youth, and families.
2. Ensure services are seamless for children, youth and their families.
3. Build access and availability of home and community-based services.
4. Develop and strengthen a workforce that operationalizes SOC values.
5. Build a strong data management system to inform decision-making and track outcomes.
